Associate Head of Early Education & Childcare

 

The Southville Community Development Association (SCDA) is a forward thinking and progressive charity & company limited by guarantee. We are opening a brand new nursery and community centre on Chessel Street, Bedminster and as a result we have an exciting opportunity to join our Early Education & Childcare leadership team.

Working under the guidance of the Executive Head, you will provide leadership and management across our sites, promoting consistently high aspirations and standards, and a commitment to continuous improvement across the team. You will have a relevant graduate level qualification, strong pedagogical understanding and excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.

Senior Early Years Practitioner & Early Years Practitioner

 

The Southville Community Development Association (SCDA) is a forward thinking and progressive charity & company limited by guarantee. In late 2017 we are opening a brand new nursery and community centre in BS3 and as a result of internal progression we have several opportunities at Early Years Practitioner and Senior Early Years Practitioner level in our existing OFSTED Outstanding nursery at the Southville Centre.

Hours:     1 x 24 hours/week (Wed-Fri) maternity cover

3 x 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri) permanent

Rate of Pay: £17,331 (EYP) £18,171 (SEYP) plus benefits including subsidised childcare & meals and training and development opportunities.

Qualifications: Minimum Recognised Level 3 Qualification

Closing date: 5 p.m. on 11th October 2017

Interviews: w/c 23rd October

Start Dates: November/December 2017

 

The successful candidates will have previous experience in an early years setting, as well as holding a recognised qualification at Level 3 or above. In addition they will need to be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and a strong understanding of both child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Playworker

 

The Southville Centre is looking to recruit a Playworker, to work in its OFSTED Outstanding After School Club with children aged 4-11 years.

You will ideally have some previous experience in an early years or play setting, however we would be willing to provide support and training to someone with enthusiasm for playwork.

This role is term time only (although there are likely to be opportunities for additional hours in school holidays).

Hours: 15 hrs per week  (Mon-Fri 3-6 p.m. – term time only)

Rate of Pay: £8.33/hour (+13% annual leave payment)

 

Qualifications: Recognised Early Years or Play Qualification desirable, but not essential.
