The Chessel Centre

We are delighted to confirm that building work is now fully underway on the Chessel Centre site, and that we expect the building to open in late 2017.

We can now also confirm that the set-up of the nursery will be very similar to the existing day nursery group at the Southville Centre. The nursery will open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. each week day, providing 54 spaces for children aged 1-5 years. Sessions will be available for full or half days, with a minimum booking of 2 half day sessions per week.

This year the Southville Community Development Association will be re-named ‘BS3 Community Development’ and, in-line with this and with our current charitable objectives, the organisation’s focus will continue to extend across the BS3 postcode area. As a result of this, the priority system for accessing nursery spaces at both the Southville Centre and the Chessel Centre will be simplified as follows, in line with the opening of the new building:

1) Siblings of children already attending

2) Children living in BS3 postcode area

3) Children living outside of BS3 postcode area

We will begin allocating Chessel Centre nursery spaces in August 2017, and we would expect the new spaces to accommodate around 120 additional families.

If you are interested in applying for a space at the Southville Centre Nursery and/or the Chessel Centre Nursery, please contact family.services@southvillecentre.org.uk for a waiting list application form.
